Join us for a live event as we showcase community engagement and the Web. Our guest panel representatives from Farmers Insurance Hawaii, TechHui and Honolulu Civil Beat will present their new community-oriented websites and discuss the role and impact of the Web in community issue advocacy.
The evening concludes with a Pau Hana tweetup with drinks and pupus featuring baked goodies from a community favorite, Liliha Bakery.

Ryan Ozawa | @hawaii
Ryan is a technologist, new media producer, and social web evangelist who has published online and fostered virtual networks since the days before the web. From running a dial-up BBS in the early 1990s to exploring "Web 2.0" and social media, he has long embraced the ways in which technology can bring people together. Among his various projects, he blogs at HawaiiWeblog.com, runs the leading discussion forum HawaiiThreads.com, and co-hosts the weekly tech and science show Bytemarks Cafe on Hawaii Public Radio. His online shenanigans have also earned recent mention in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, ABC's Nightline, and NPR. He has a degree in journalism from the University of Hawaii, and is married with three kids.
